Job: Senior Syndicate Accountant
Location & Working arrangement: London – Hybrid working
Salary: £85,000 per annum + Bonus and excellent benefits
Contract: Permanent
We are looking for a Senior Syndicate Accountant to join our client’s Finance team in London. You will be responsible for preparing and presenting financial results, syndicate general ledger, balance sheets reconciliations, submission of regulatory reporting to Lloyds of London as well as the annual statutory financial statements. The ideal candidate will have Lloyds insurance experience.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the Syndicate general ledger across all line items, ensuring proper financial controls are in place.
- Review and approve monthly Syndicate balance sheet reconciliations
- Oversee the external syndicate audit during statutory cycles as required.
- Assist in preparing the monthly report, syndicate executive pack, and quarterly syndicate board packs.
- Support and review the production of all necessary regulatory returns and internal planning.
- Supply data in specified formats to Group Reporting, Risk, and other departments.
- Implement financial controls in all allocated processes within the Syndicate Financial Reporting team.
- Support the preparation of the monthly Flash report, Syndicate Executive pack and quarterly Syndicate Board packs
Requirements
- Qualified accountant ACCA, ACA or CIMA with PQE
- Senior Syndicate Accountant with Lloyd’s of London experience (highly desirable)
- Knowledge of UK GAAP
- Lloyd’s regulations, byelaws and reporting requirements
- Strong analytical and data manipulation skills
- Experience of working with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, data manipulation and handling data sets essential
- Experience dealing with senior/key stakeholders
- Experience in people management
