MI Select is recruiting a Business Development Manager specialising in event sponsorship and exhibition sales for a leading global events and exhibitions organisation focused on the digital infrastructure and telecoms sectors.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced B2B event sales professional to generate sponsorship and exhibition revenue across a portfolio of internationally recognised telecoms and digital industry events.
The successful candidate will focus on new business acquisition, account growth, and consultative sponsorship sales, working with senior decision-makers across technology, telecoms, infrastructure, and digital transformation organisations.
This role is based in Central London with hybrid working, offering easy access from areas such as Canary Wharf, Shoreditch, Westminster, and other key London business districts. The position offers a base salary of £45,000–£60,000 with uncapped commission and strong career progression.
As a Business Development Manager specialising in event sponsorship and exhibition sales, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth across a portfolio of high-profile telecoms and digital infrastructure events.
You will sell sponsorship packages, exhibition stands, and strategic partnerships to organisations across the telecoms and digital infrastructure sectors, working with senior decision-makers responsible for marketing, partnerships, and commercial strategy.
You will identify and secure new sponsorship partnerships while developing long-term relationships with existing clients across the global telecoms and digital technology ecosystem.
This role requires strong new business development capability, a consultative sales approach, and a proven track record of selling complex sponsorship and exhibition packages (SpEx) within the events industry.
Deliver and exceed event sponsorship and exhibition sales revenue targets
Generate new business opportunities across global telecoms and digital markets
Re-engage dormant accounts and grow revenue from existing clients
Identify target companies and develop strategies to secure sponsorship partnerships
Build relationships with C-level executives and senior decision-makers
Sell complex sponsorship and exhibition stand packages (SpEx)
Develop tailored proposals and presentations for different stakeholder groups
Work collaboratively with marketing, production, and event delivery teams
Maintain accurate sales pipeline reporting and forecasting
Attend international events and industry conferences to meet clients and prospects
3–5 years experience in B2B event sales or sponsorship sales
Experience selling sponsorship and exhibition packages for conferences or exhibitions
Background in telecoms, technology, digital infrastructure, or related sectors preferred
Proven track record of new business development and revenue generation
Experience managing complex sales cycles and building long-term client relationships
Ability to pitch multiple event brands and propositions
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and C-level executives
Strong pipeline management and forecasting ability
Willingness to travel internationally for events (approximately 6–8 trips per year)
